Playing old-school NES games is reassuringly awesome, but playing them in emulation at your computer is inauthentic and sometimes kludgey. Check out this awesome homemade Nintendo arcade system and consider the possibilities.

If you liked the arcade cabinet we shared with you last year but you weren’t sold on the styling, this table-top arcade cabinet might be what you’re looking for.

Instructables user russm313 turned an old PC and a 17″ monitor into a table-top gaming machine that runs NES games in emulation and even sports old school controls. Check out the video below to see it in action.

You’ll need to do some shopping for a few specialty parts like the joy stick and buttons, but the parts aren’t expensive. Read over the full build guide at the link below to see the parts list and step by step photos.
