Palm Pre users eager for just a bit more convenience in using the (still invite/wait list) Google Voice service can grab dkGoogleVoice, a homebrew app that dials, grabs voicemail, and otherwise makes Google Voice more helpful.
As you can likely tell from the posted screenshots, it’s a rough app, and one that stands alone—it can access your contacts, but doesn’t replace or augment the phone’s official dialer or SMS apps. The developer notes that it “has a lot of bugs,” but it’s winning praise in Palm’s homebrew forums for being at least easier to use than calling or texting “magic numbers” or dialing one’s Voice number to make calls.
