The Notebook Desktop [Featured Desktop]

4 Mar/09

Reader Sawyer Hood’s theme takes the popular Enigma customization and combines it with a personalized handwriting font—making the desktop look like it’s constructed with pen & paper.

The desktop itself is a combination of:

  • The icons are the Sketchy icons by mathilde.
  • The background was made with PhotoShop.
  • I used Enigma 2.0 with Rainmeter to make the feeds and widgets, and then I used the recently featured YourFonts to use my handwriting in the widgets. It gives the desktop a natural, simple, and comfortable feel that you would get from taking notes on paper.
  • Finally, CD Art Display is used to display music.

The end result is impressively original, and a great illustration of customizing your own killer Enigma desktop. Great job, Sawyer Hood!

Think you can do better? Send your own customized desktop into the Lifehacker Desktop Show and Tell Flickr Group, complete with a description of the programs and tweaks you used (and preferably links as well!) and we may just feature it here.
